Hoboken Painter Inc. is committed to providing high-quality interior painting services and ensuring customer satisfaction. To further demonstrate this commitment, we propose the following 3-year limited warranty on workmanship for residential interior painting services performed by Hoboken Painter Inc.

Warranty Duration: Hoboken Painter Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") warrants to the original purchaser that its residential interior painting services will be free from defects in workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the date of completion of the work as specified in the contract.

Scope of Coverage: This limited warranty covers the following residential interior painting services performed by the Company:

  • Painting of interior walls.

  • Painting of ceilings.

  • Painting of baseboards, middle moldings, and crown moldings.

  • Painting of interior doors and door trim.

  • Painting of window trim and window sills.

  • Painting of interior closets.

  • Painting of kitchen cabinets (if such services are explicitly included in the contract).

This warranty covers peeling, blistering, or chipping of the paint that is directly attributable to defective workmanship by the Company's painting professionals.

Exclusions and Limitations: This limited warranty does not cover the following:

  • Materials: Paint or other materials not supplied by the Company. The Company is not responsible for issues arising from the use of customer-supplied materials.

  • Non-Company Work: Any work that was not performed entirely by the Company's employees or authorized subcontractors.

  • Surfaces:

    • While interior doors are generally covered, damage due to excessive wear and tear from frequent handling is excluded.

    • Window sills are covered for defective workmanship in painting, but not for damage caused by moisture accumulation from condensation or other sources.

    • All other horizontal surfaces, including but not limited to floors, stairs, and countertops, are excluded from this warranty.

  • Paint Match: Exact matches in paint color or finish are not guaranteed for any repairs made under this warranty due to potential variations caused by environmental factors and the aging of the original paint.

  • Manufacturer Defects: Defects in the paint or other materials used, which are covered by the respective manufacturer's warranty. The customer should refer to the manufacturer's warranty for such issues.

  • Pre-existing Conditions:

    • Bleeding from knots, rust, cedar, or other underlying materials.

    • Cracks in drywall, plaster, or wood that existed prior to the painting work.

    • Peeling or other failures of paint layers that were present before the Company's services were performed.

  • External Damage: Damage to the painted surfaces resulting from:

    • Abrasion, impact, or other mechanical damage.

    • Improper or abrasive cleaning methods or materials.

    • Abuse, misuse, or neglect.

    • Exposure to harsh chemicals or solvents.

    • Fire, flood, earthquake, or other acts of God.

    • Extreme weather conditions occurring after the completion of the painting work.

    • Alterations or modifications made to the painted surfaces by the customer or third parties after the Company's work is completed.

    • Vandalism or intentional damage.

  • Cabinet Painting Specific Exclusions (if applicable): If cabinet painting services are included in the contract, this warranty does not cover damage resulting from normal wear and tear, including but not limited to scratches, chips, or wear around handles, hinges, and other frequently touched areas. Damage due to excessive moisture or exposure to cleaning agents not recommended for painted cabinets is also excluded.

  • Limewashing Specific Considerations (if applicable): Due to the inherent nature of limewash finishes, this warranty does not cover minor variations in color or texture, or slight dusting that may occur over time.

Warranty Claim Procedure: To make a claim under this limited warranty, the customer must:

  • Notification: Notify Hoboken Painter Inc. in writing (via email or postal mail to the address listed on the contract) within thirty (30) days of discovering the alleged defect. The notification should include the customer's name, address, contact information, the date of service, a copy of the original contract or invoice, and a detailed description of the issue. Contact information for notification is available on the Company's website.

  • Required Information: Provide a copy of the original contract or invoice as proof of service and payment.

  • Access for Inspection: Allow the Company or its authorized representatives reasonable access to the property during normal business hours to inspect the alleged defect.

  • Resolution: Upon receipt of a valid warranty claim, the Company will inspect the affected area within a reasonable timeframe. If the Company determines that the issue is due to defective workmanship covered by this warranty, the Company will, at its sole discretion, either repair the affected area or repaint it. The Company will cover the cost of both labor and materials for valid warranty repairs within the 3-year warranty period.

Conditions that May Void the Warranty: This limited warranty shall be considered void under the following circumstances:

  • Failure to follow the warranty claim procedure outlined above.

  • Any repairs or attempts to repair the affected painted surfaces are made by the customer or any third party without the prior written consent of Hoboken Painter Inc.

  • Failure to properly maintain the painted surfaces, including but not limited to excessive exposure to moisture or the use of cleaning products not suitable for painted surfaces.

  • Failure by the customer to fulfill the payment obligations as outlined in the original contract.
